What is Article Advertising?
Everyone has heard of advertising as we are bombarded with it in what seems every way of life these days. But have you heard of article advertising or marketing your business by writing articles? Think of it as basically as similar to a story in a magazine where good content is followed by details on where to find more information about the products and services mentioned. Article advertising is an online version of writing a story and using a hyperlink or website link in the last paragraph for the reader to click on for more information.
Article advertising if done well can be a cost effective way to market your product and/or service online. You basically write short articles of approximately 400-600 words about something that is related to your business. For example you might write about how to do something such as how to lose weight or how to improve your golf swing.
Well written articles are picked up by other marketers looking for fresh content and republished on their websites or blogs. However an article needs to be more than just well written content to work. You need to use keywords and keyword phrases effectively so that people will find your article in their online searches for information.
Benefits of article advertising or article marketing.
* A well written informative article will help you gain trust and respect in your niche as people see you as an authority in your area. Lots of these articles will compound this for you so that more people will be exposed to your content.
* Articles only a require a time cost if you write them yourself so are a cheap form of advertising for your business. If your time is limited or better spent elsewhere then you can find people who will write articles for you at a very affordable price and they will let you claim them as your own. A word of warning here though is to ask for a sample of their writing first and to check that the content they write for you is unique.
* Articles once published will have a back link to your site from your resource box (last paragraph) with a strong call to action. This is your invite for people to visit you site and see what you have to offer them. The better the article the more your article will be published by others giving you even more back links to your site.
* Article advertising is very targeted in that people who read your content are interested in what you have to offer. You will not be marketing to people who have no interest in your offer. A targeted audience is more likely to buy what you are selling.
Article marketing or article advertising, if done well, is a cost effective, targeted advertising method to draw attention to your products and/or services. Either learn to do it well yourself or hire a good ghostwriter to write for you. Well written keyword targeted articles will help you find more customers who will not only buy your product but will trust you and will eventually become your long term customers. What would you say is more cost effective, telemarketing or email marketing?
Lately I have been doing a lot of directory submissions to build up my backlinks. I write an article and then submit it to the following sites for approval: 1. Ezinearticles.com (constanly crawled by google) 2. Goarticles.com (huge site, lots of traffic) 3. Rysite.com (tweets articles + quick indexing) 4. Articlealley.com (easy to submit to) 5. buzzle.com (has a high PR and is very popular) By submitting articles to those sites, i have recieved a lot of traffic. Especially from rysite.com because i get traffic not only from my article, but they tweet it to a following based on your keyword and as a result I get traffic from twitter as well. Hope that helps!
