Article writing is a great way get traffic to your website or blog but it can be tedious and time consuming if you do it all yourself. If you own an internet business you know that you need to continually add fresh content so people keep coming back to read more. You know that these people will one day see you as a person of authority in your niche and reward you by buying your products and/or services. Search engines also love fresh relevant content and will reward you with a better ranking for searches for your website keywords and keyword phrases.

Articles on blogs also encourage people to comment, supply rss feeds and allow people to tell their friends about your blog. This results in more traffic to your site. More relevant traffic can produce more sales as people begin to trust you and what you are talking about on your blog.

So fresh relevant content is very important to your site but unless you like writing articles and content then it can become a real chore for you. Most online marketers prefer to spend their time doing other things but unless they have the financial resources to outsource their articles they will start to look for an easier way to get content. Forget the copying of other people’s articles as that is plagiarism and it will do you more harm than good in the long run.

Let’s look at some possible easier ways to get traffic to your site.

If you find article writing a real chore and you can always outsource them using a freelance writer but you have to spend time initially finding a suitable freelancer for your niche. However be aware that a reader of your blog will soon realize that something is not quite right if you have your blog entries written in different writing styles. This does not help you build up trust as an authority on your niche. That said there are article writers that will write you good articles for a minimal fee. You do however have to do some research so that you can give them keyword and keyword phrases around which to write articles for you.

You can also use free articles from places like the public domain but I suggest you check that they have not been published hundreds of times before. What chance have you got of someone finding your article when they have thousands of the same one to search through?

Another alternative is to publish other people’s articles from article directories but you are required to publish them in their entirety including a resource box which gives them credit for the article. You are not allowed to publish them and make them your own. A few of these mixed in with your own original articles is good as it helps with SEO to have links linking to other sites off your website or blog.

A good mix of articles or website content would therefore be your own original articles or articles written for you by a freelance writer plus some articles from article directories. Remember that if you have articles written you will hold the copyright to them so you can do what you want with them.
