Bum marketing and search engine optimization (SEO) need to go together for a successful article marketing campaign. Why? An article that has been written without first finding the right keywords has considerably less chance of being found in the search engines results than one that has been written using the right keywords.
Before you write your content you need to work out what keywords or key phrases will help your get better results and thus better placement in search engines. This is where SEO is crucial for bum marketing. It is not a simple matter of knowing how to write well and writing great content because without using your keywords effectively throughout your article how will the search engines know how to place your article in their SEO algorithms so people can find them?
In order to know how to use your keywords effectively you first must know what they are and how they are used.
In a nutshell keywords and keyword phrases are what people type into the search engines to find a solution to their problem. For example they may be looking for diet to lose weight, how to stop smoking, how to make money trading stocks or simply how to find another job. As humans are a social animal it is important that they know what others think and say about things before they purchase or do anything. Therefore reviews can be very popular in most niches. So to write a successful article you have to work out what keywords or keyword phrases they will type in to find the information they want about your product and/or service.
As search engine spiders search your content to find these keywords then the more they see of them the better chance you have of your article showing up in their results. However it is not that easy.
You may be tempted to overuse your keywords so much in fact that your article no longer makes sense to the reader. This is called keyword stuffing and the search engines see it as manipulating them so they now penalize you for keyword over use. So you need to walk that fine line between what is considered enough and what is just too much.
Best way to achieve this is to write content that sounds natural when you read it back to yourself. Search engines have evolved today to look beyond the keywords at the language surrounding them and also look for other words that have a similar meaning to your keywords or are commonly used in your chosen subject when determining your SEO ranking. So use your keyword too many times and it will be like a red flag to a bull and throw you out of the fight for a top SEO position.
So by now you are wondering with bum marketing what is a guide to how much to use your keywords or keyword phrases? My suggestion is that your article marketing writing should only have your main keyword approximately once every 100 words or so but to also use words commonly used in content on your topic published elsewhere.
