the new URL looks rather ugly. However it’s great if you want to do what a lot of annoying internet marketers do. You know what I’m talking about – they like to use these shortened URLs with their mistery product emails so you will click on it to find out what it is.

However there is a better way to cloak your URLs.

First of all why cloak URLs?

1. It a lot harder for someone to work out what affiliate porgram you are using. For example it is just so easy for someone to change a clickbank hop link username to their own.

2. Cloaking if done correctly actually provides a much neater link than the original affiliate link and thus looks more professional.

3. Cloaking can also allow you to use keywords in the link that aids in selling the product.
for example my Clickbank ho link to a product called DLGuard is

http://keries.cbdmanager.hop.clickbank.net/

which I could change to

http://DLGuard.keries.com

so that you know I’m selling DLGuard.

What I have done here is create a subdomain called DLGuard on my main domain name and forwarded it to the clickbank hop link.

Another option is to purchase a domain name and have it forwarded to your affiliate link.

For example
http://www.wealthcreationforeveryone.com
is a domain name forwarded to an affiliate link.

There are lots of products on the market to cloak URLs but why buy them if what I have discussed above adequately cloaks you URLs for you.

Well I’ve had one of those periods in my life where I felt like I killed every cat in the neighbourhood with everything going pear shaped but I managed to remain positive and everything is gradually getting back to normal once again.

Good news I’ve written another lens at www.squidoo.com/garbage for your enjoyment. I’d appreciate a few rankings and votes on my poll but best of all do yourself a favour and sign up and check out our internet marketing review site RatingsHub and save yourself from purchasing all that junk. Tonight I’ve been busy watching You Tube videos about passwords and one that worried me was of a poor frustrated and sad woman who had forgotten her email password. Has this happened to you because it has happenned to me. Like her I didn’t understand the importance of email passwords afterall who wants to read my emails?

After having my email address stolen and used by what seemed like everyone in the world to send spam I now know that security should be taken seriously.

Imagine the result of someone getting into your email box and sending an email from you to your mother with explicit adult content. It’s not something that I even want to think about.
