However even thought it shortens my URL from

http://urlfreeze.com/www.kerriesheehan.com/blog

to

http://urlfreeze.com/1/L-51/

the new URL looks rather ugly. However it’s great if you want to do what a lot of annoying internet marketers do. You know what I’m talking about – they like to use these shortened URLs with their mistery product emails so you will click on it to find out what it is.

However there is a better way to cloak your URLs.

First of all why cloak URLs?

1. It a lot harder for someone to work out what affiliate porgram you are using. For example it is just so easy for someone to change a clickbank hop link username to their own.

2. Cloaking if done correctly actually provides a much neater link than the original affiliate link and thus looks more professional.

3. Cloaking can also allow you to use keywords in the link that aids in selling the product.
for example my Clickbank ho link to a product called DLGuard is

http://keries.cbdmanager.hop.clickbank.net/

which I could change to

http://DLGuard.keries.com

so that you know I’m selling DLGuard.

What I have done here is create a subdomain called DLGuard on my main domain name and forwarded it to the clickbank hop link.

Another option is to purchase a domain name and have it forwarded to your affiliate link.

For example
http://www.wealthcreationforeveryone.com
is a domain name forwarded to an affiliate link.

There are lots of products on the market to cloak URLs but why buy them if what I have discussed above adequately cloaks you URLs for you.

Unfortunately they are a necessary evil with identity and internet banking fraud etc on the increase. The banks in Australia now cover internet banking fraud but are actively lobbing the government to make it the responsibility of the customer. Don’t know about you but I’m rethinking about whether I want to take the risk of internet banking if the banks get their way.

Ok let’s impress our friends with a great house, sporty little number for a car and that holiday for that great sun tan. However we then come home to only have our sun tan fade quickly, to a house we can’t enjoy because we are too busy working somewhere else and that sporty little number whose value is wearing thin now due to excessive parking fees – no way can we leave it in the street or a cheap public car park. Just a minute why are we doing this to impress our friends who we suddenly realise that we don’t really like anyway.

How about we dream about having all these things plus some but don’t have to go to work any more to achieve them. Make it our goal – write it down and read it out aloud atleast twice a day so that it starts to become real. Meanwhile watch those pennies and learn as much as you can about creating real wealth. Before you know it you will be well on your way to achieving your goal.

I regularly hear that for one to become wealthy one must borrow as much money as they can as it’s the amount of money you can invest that counts. However this is great if you can control your expenses and spend less than you earn. If you use this money to buy things that depreciate in value then you will just dig yourself a big debt hole.

So build up enough assets to firstly cover your essential expenses then you will be amazed how quickly you will build up enough assets to earn the money your need to fund a great lifestyle.
