Here is an example of a RatingsHub Email that’s just useful information.
Do It for Love or Money?
There’s a lot of stuff in this issue- so read to the very end!
If you had a ’secret’ system for making money - a
system that generated thousands of dollars per
month - would you teach it to other people?
Think about it for a minute.
You’re first reaction is probably “no way!”
But, if you do have a successful method of making
thousands each month you might be very excited
about it because you love what you’re doing and
actually want to tell others how you did it!
You might also think of writing a book or create
some videos or create an audio product to help
others! Your enthusiasm would be contagious!
Most people who are successful feel obligated
to ‘give something back’ to others to help
them and that’s why they create trusts and charities
to give something back to the community. They are
grateful for what they have received from their
business.
I know I am.
But then there are those who simply create products
because there’s a market for them. They’ve found a
‘niche’ they can ‘exploit’ or is under-served and
decide to become the ‘big fish’ in that little pond.
They are not really passionate about what they are
doing, they are in it for the money. They are 100%
pure capitalists. They carefully measure supply
and demand and make decision based on the potential
profits to be made by creating products specifically
tailored for that market.
I’m not saying that is bad or wrong. I’m saying that
most people would not be happy doing that. I know
I wouldn’t be. To create a sustainable business you’re
probably better off doing what you love or at least, like
a lot!
Then, if you want, teach others what you’ve learned
about business.
But there are so many people, especially in the
Internet Marketing niche that simply feel compelled
to create products about “Internet Marketing” but
they are only in it for the money.
Look, if you have a passion, such as Mountain Climbing or
collecting antique Persian rugs or old watches or
growing prize-winning roses then how about creating
information about your passion?
Create a community, get involved. Of course, concentrate
on the bottom line, but to tell you the truth: You’ll
be much more successful figuring out what you love to do,
who you want your customers to be and then figuring
out how to do it profitably than trying to find niches
that are ripe for the picking - but niches you have no passion for.
To tell you the truth, if there were two products in the
same niche and one looked like it was created by a ‘pro’
and the other was created by someone who has an obvious
passion for what they are doing, I would go for the later.
Life is too short doing things for money and no other
reason. If you can love what you do and make money, well,
that is heaven on earth!
If you’re struggling online because you lack focus- start
thinking about what you love to do, what you love to talk
about most of the time (big hint) and thinking about your
potential customers (people!) and how you could help them.
All businesses have customers - no customers, no business-
so pick your customers carefully because you’re
going to be spending a lot of time with them.
I have often gone into a business because I liked a certain
group of people and wanted them for my customers.
Anyway, I hope what I have communicated here helps *you*…
That’s all the news for now,
