Lots of internet marketers talk about keyword search and how important it is for any online business. However what exactly is keyword research and why is it so important for any business on the net.
What is Keyword Research?
Keywords are often used by people searching online for information and it is very similar to using an index in a physical book. People use words to type into search engine search boxes to find what they are looking for online. These words are called keywords in the internet marketing world.
If you know what words people will use to find your business then you will get lots of potential traffic from the search results. These words can be found by doing some keyword research which will also tell you how many people are searching for these words and what kind of competition you will have for these words.
If you can find words with lots of searches and very little competition you will rank higher in the search results much sooner than if you have lots of competition for them. Keyword optimization refers to using your keywords in various places through out your website to get your website listed as high as possible in the search engine results. If you can rank high on the first page of the search results you will get lots of free traffic to your website.
Why is Keyword Research Important?
As mentioned above if you know what words people are searching for to find websites like yours then you will know what keywords to target when writing the content for your site. Without knowing these words then the chances of your website being found are very low especially in saturated online markets. Read the rest of this entry

Article marketing is a free and relatively easy method of online promotion so it is no wonder lots of online businesses use it. However many offline and some online business are yet to get started marketing using articles.
If you are considering article marketing to promote your online or offline business then this article is for you.
Here are a few things to consider before you give article writing a go.
1. Are you going to write the articles yourself? Do you have the time in your busy schedule?
Article writing is a skill you need to master and it can take time to learn how to write good articles. Bear in mind that there are plenty of freelance article writers available that can write you some decent articles very cheaply.
2. Are you going to use article marketing to get more traffic to your website or for some other reason? Maybe you just want your main website to rank higher and to use articles for search engine optimization or to get more back links.
3. To get people to read your articles you must be able to write about interesting stuff and not the same old boring stuff. You need to take ideas and write about them in a different refreshing manner. Remember the more interesting you can make your articles the more people are likely to read them.
4. Finding good titles for articles is not always easy and I seem to think of them at odd moments. Keep a pencil and paper beside your bed at night to write them down before you forget them. Create a file on your desktop called “headlines” and add any titles as you think of them to it so that you can use them for future articles. Read the rest of this entry

Linking is great if you know what you are doing. If you don’t then you create a huge mess. Linking does work but it has had changes since it first began being used.
The key to using links is using them in moderation. In the past, it was common practice to use thousands of links but as with many other things in the marketing world, limiting the number of links is the best method to use now.
The market today focuses on content not quantity. This is great news since you now have more space on your site and can remove the many links you have that aren’t really producing but you hated to remove them.
When you have a website with several pages, use links to the different pages. All the links will have different content describing the pages. This increases traffic to the site via the different pages and entices the people to browse through the rest of the website too.
Have one of the links to the homepage of your site. Deep linking is using the right link to the specific page on the website. This can be a link from within your site or from another site you have exchanged a link. Use relevant pages of content to link to your pages. Tell the sources of the links you are limiting the links for future sources and this will create others to want to add links to your site before you meet your quotas of links.
Using this method creates excitement from webmasters since you are placing their links on a website with limited links, which decreases their competition for users to select their links on your site. It also states to potential sites wanting to exchange links or add links that you are responsible and caring about the appearance of your site so they want to use the professional site you have created. Did you know that your website can be getting hits all day if your design is web search engine ranking friendly. You can make the best and most beautiful and informative website on the internet that people in your niche has ever seen but no one will ever see it if it isn’t search engine optimized. The prices that you have may be the best as well but unless you use some smart search engine optimization techniques no one will ever know.
The best kind of website promotion that you can have is making sure that it is built so that search engines find it attractive. It has to have your information phrased in such a way that the bots that they send out to see what types of information your website has will be ranked high in searches.
There are a couple things that you can do to help it be picked up by the search engines. One is to make the best usage of space on your website. Make sure that you have your keywords placed within the HTML code for your images, flash objects and videos. In the “alt” part of your HTML code place a description using the keywords or phrase. The search engines may not be able to read your graphics or see what words you have in your videos but they can see the HTML.
For improved website search engine ranking, you will also want to make sure that you are creating relevant title tags. This isn’t talking about the title that those viewing your website see, it is talking about the HTML tags that the search engines see that tell it what your site is all about. Some will have the same title tag for every page of their web site but doing so isn’t optimizing it for search engines. Each page should have it’s own unique HTML title tag relevant to the information on that page. That is guaranteed to make your web search engine ranking higher not only for your site but for that page in particular.
Make sure that you don’t have any duplicate information on your web pages. Don’t have the identical thing posted on different pages. This will not help draw attention to your website but may actually cause the bots to ignore your page. Also do not have hidden text in your page. Web builders in the past use to hide text in a page that viewers were unable to see but bots were able to pick up on and help with your web search engine ranking. Search engines caught on to this and now will hide web pages totally that it believes has hidden text in it.
These ideas are just a few of the necessary steps to help your search engine optimization efforts succeed. A web site design that isn’t using these techniques will not be making the most of any opportunities and may get you ignored by not just Google but Yahoo or any other search engines. Doing it correctly though and constantly finding ways to have your web site design optimized will help your web search engine ranking go through the roof.

Search engines look for website optimization when looking for content that you have created. The following points will help you to make your site search engine friendly. As well, you will benefit by giving your visitors a quality experience.
If you are not familiar with web site optimization, it involves making sure that the appropriate keywords are used throughout your content. You must be careful not to overdo it, however, or your site could get banned, or sandboxed. If this happens, it can take months to get out, if you even can. Some sites never do recover. Owners have to start over with an entirely new domain.
You can avoid having this happen to you by knowing and applying these few simple rules.
1. Make sure the keywords are highly relevant to your site content. The more targeted your keyword phrases are, the more the search engines will like it. This is good, because it means your site will be one of the first ones that pops up when someone searches for those phrases. Read the rest of this entry
